Granny Sue

I sure do miss my grandmother, especially when I think about how much she'd be head over heels for Luke. Luke would have been her first great-grandchild.

She was an amazing woman- had an 8th grade education, raised four kids, cooked better than the best chef in the southeast (hands down) and was kind and gracious thru and thru.

I have so many wonderful memories with her, including her putting me to work when I was little shelling peas on the front porch. I loved every second of it.

Granny Sue, I sure do miss you.

Big Boy!

Luke wants to show you his new tricks.....

Eating a banana like a big boy!

This isn't a "trick", but he sure does love cheddar bunnies!

Who needs to actually play with a activity table, when you can push it all over the room??

He's sooooo close to walking. He'll push big items around, walker, chairs, etc but won't let go. He still babbles all day long, no words yet. He has 7 teeth officially! The bottom right lateral incisor came in and the other side is slowing working it's way up, just a bump right now.

One of his new favorite things to do is wrestle. It's actually hysterical, he'll come crawling at you full steam with his mouth open ready to "bite". He doesn't actually bite you, but it sure is funny to watch.

We are totally in love with this rambunctious boy!

Good-bye Chapel Hill... Hello, new home!

So we've been quite busy since our last post. We went down to Jacksonville for a quick weekend trip for a family reunion. As a side note, I don't recommend driving for almost two full days in the a three day period with a baby.

Luke got to meet most of the Hawkins family and his great grandmother.

The weekend before we moved, I went to a friend's shower in DC.

And stayed with this cute gal...

We then closed on a house and moved on July 2. Thank goodness for the help of Grammi (Eric's mom) and Nana (my mom) or I wouldn't have made it.

We're settling in and really getting used to the idea of being first time homeowners. Luke has been swinging a lot at his new local park.

AND talk about convenient timing, Luke is teething like crazy. I can see one tooth coming through and I have a feeling there are at least two more trying to make their appearance. He won't let me look inside his mouth though. I can tell he's feeling really bad because he took a nap on top of me the other day, this NEVER happens.

Nap #1, doing the precious baby feet tuck.

Nap #2, right on top of Mommy.

Get to feeling better sweet baby boy.
