Here are his stats from his 1 year appointment that I forgot to post. Eric had to take him because I was DOG sick. I'm actually kind of glad I missed it because he had to get his blood drawn through a finger prick and his MMR shots. :( Eric thinks the lady took his length measurements wrong, so we aren't super confident in his recorded length, but his weight looks just about right... long and skinny.
Height: 29.5 inches
Weight: 20 lbs 7 oz.
Head: 47cm
Here are some updates/milestones:
- He loves to look at his books.
- In-and-out is his new favorite game, taking stuff out of boxes/bins/cubicles/etc and putting them back in.
- He loves to go for walks, especially when he can watch all the comotion.
- He LOVES watching the garbage truck/fedex man/etc. He's not waving at them yet, but they all wave at him and blow the horn to their trucks. :)
- He loves to eat: waffles, O's, pancakes, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cantalope, watermelon, pears, peaches, kiwi, bananas (really any fruit!), green beans, spaghetti, beans, rice....
- He loves strangers, all of them!
- He loves going to nursery!
- He has favorite pages on his books, it's really cute to see him turn immediately to them.
- He love Ella!
- He loves cars!
- He LOVES to swing and clap while he's swinging, so cute!
- He loves riding in the shopping cart.
- He love to climb stairs and is attempting to scoot down them backwards.
- He talks gibberish all day long, I'm still waiting on a word to pop in there.
- He's not walking yet, but it's oh so close. He can shimmy down the side of a wall and transfer. He's started to stand and take his hands off of whatever he's holding for a couple of seconds and then quickly grab it again. I'm thinking he'll be walking at 14/15 months.
- He loves to facetime/skype!
- He will unroll a whole roll of toilet paper, so I've had to remove all paper from their rings. :)
- He loves to shake things (spices, coffee cans).
- He's facing forward in his carseat and loves it!
- Most of his 12 month clothes fit spot on, but he's outgrowing some.
- He is in size 4 diapers.
- He's sleeping through the night! This has been going on since about 10.5/11 months. Thank goodness!
- He's still doing 2 naps a day.
- He still only has his 6 teeth, I'm waiting and waiting for the others to start making their appearance.
- He's becoming more and more brave, crawling over top of everything (see the photo below)!
- He weaned this weekend (Sunday 6/9 to be exact). He was starting to self wean, he dropped two nursing sessions on his own within two days. I then kept it to two- a- day for 2 weeks, then dropped the session after his first nap. The last to go was his morning nursing session right after he wakes up. I kept us to one-a-day for 2 weeks, then just dropped the last one. I soaked in that last session. He hasn't even thought twice about it.... so sad, my baby boy is a toddler!
Clap, Clap!
Clap, Clap!
Don't mind me, Ella.
Beep, beep!
You mean this isn't how you ride the car???
He loves his baseball.
He'll hold it while we're shopping in the grocery store.
Can't get enough of these baby blues.
We're heading to the beach on Friday to a Hawkins family reunion, pictures to come!
AND, our final news.................
We're home owners (almost)! We close on a house on June 20th and move July 2nd. Crazy, but true! Hopefully that news makes up for the lack of posts the last couple of months.
